Frequently asked questions
What devices are supported?
LiPAR Golf Monitor requires an iPhone 13 Pro or newer. The app measures your swing from high-frame-rate video using on-device AI, and reads the space around you with LiDAR — which is why it’s the Pro models. On unsupported devices the app will tell you rather than run with degraded results.
How does it work?
You set up your iPhone to view your hitting area, then take your swing. The app records the swing and analyzes it on your device — no radar unit, no sensors, no calibration.
What does it measure?
Thirteen metrics per shot, across three groups:
- Ball flight — ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, spin rate, spin axis, shot shape
- Result — carry, apex, hang time
- Club delivery — club speed, attack angle, club path, face angle
You can review each shot, see your session history, and share a shot card.
What is swing coaching?
The same capture that produces your numbers also analyzes your body motion — sequencing, rotation, and tempo — and turns it into plain-language feedback on what to work on. It is generated automatically, is informational only, and is not a substitute for a qualified instructor.
Are the numbers accurate?
The metrics are estimates produced by computer vision and machine learning. They’re good for tracking trends and practicing, but they are not guaranteed to match a professional launch monitor or radar unit. Accuracy depends on lighting, framing, distance, camera stability, background, ball type, device model, and thermal state.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your swing videos and analysis stay on your device by default. Nothing about your swings is uploaded unless you turn on the optional “Help Improve LiPAR” setting, which is off by default. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I control what’s shared?
Open Settings in the app. The “Help Improve LiPAR” toggle controls whether your swing videos and analysis are shared to help improve our models. You can turn it on or off at any time.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
All purchases are processed by Apple. Open iOS Settings, tap your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple — we can’t issue them directly.
How do I delete my data?
Open your Profile and choose Delete Account. This permanently removes your data on your device — profile, session history, swing videos, and settings. If you previously opted in to Help Improve LiPAR, email contact@lipargolf.com with the contribution identifier shown in Settings and we’ll delete the associated recordings within 30 days.
The camera or setup screen isn’t working.
Check that LiPAR has camera permission in iOS Settings → LiPAR Golf Monitor, that you’re on a supported device, and that you have enough free storage for video. If the problem persists, email us with your device model and iOS version.
