LiPAR Golf Inc
Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026.
1. Who we are
LiPAR Golf Monitor (“LiPAR,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by LiPAR Golf Inc, a Tennessee corporation, 4338 Nestledown Ct., Chattanooga, TN 37419.
LiPAR is currently offered and distributed only in the United States. We do not knowingly offer the app to, or collect personal information from, users outside the United States. If we expand to additional countries, we will update this policy before doing so.
Contact: contact@lipargolf.com
2. Summary
LiPAR records your golf swing with your iPhone’s camera and measures it on your phone. The app is free. Here is what that means for your data, in plain terms:
- You sign in to use LiPAR. Sign in with Apple or Google. The email address from your sign-in is your LiPAR account. See Section 3.
- What you create in the app is uploaded to us. That is the price of the free license. Your shot videos with their audio, the measurements and body-motion data LiPAR computes from them, where and at what elevation each shot was taken, your putting rounds, your coaching analyses and conversations with the coach, and your Apple Watch wrist motion are uploaded to our cloud storage and stored with your account. We use them to run and improve LiPAR. There is no switch to turn this off; if you do not want it, do not use the app, and you can delete your account at any time. See Section 5.
- Usage analytics are always on. The app records which features you use through Google Analytics for Firebase. See Section 3.
- We advertise on Meta and TikTok, and they receive app events. The app tells Meta and TikTok about things like installs, sign-ins, sessions and shots (never your video or your numbers). If you allow tracking when iOS asks, those events also carry your device’s advertising identifier, a hashed form of your email address and name, and your LiPAR account ID. Under California law this is “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can opt out. See Section 6a.
- Games are public by default. When you pick a handle in Games, your handle, profile photo and best scores appear on leaderboards. You can stop sharing at any time. See Section 5a.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Your swing videos, images, body-motion data, shot measurements, location, coach conversations, and Apple Watch data are never sent to Meta, TikTok, or any other advertiser.
If you still use an older version of the app (version 1.2 or earlier), see Section 16.
3. What the app accesses on your device
Camera (high-frame-rate video)
Purpose: to record and measure your swing and ball flight. Leaves your device: Yes. Each recorded shot’s video is uploaded to us and stored with your account (Section 5).
Microphone
Purpose: audio is captured with your swing video so clips include the sound of impact, to help detect impact timing, and to hear voice commands. Leaves your device: Yes, as the audio track of each uploaded shot video. Voice command audio is not uploaded (see Speech recognition).
Location (optional)
Purpose: to record where each shot was taken so your history shows the range or course, and to record elevation so carry distance accounts for altitude. Leaves your device: Yes, if you allow location. The latitude, longitude and elevation are saved in each shot’s record and uploaded with it. Whether the coordinates are precise or approximate follows your iOS setting for LiPAR (Settings, Privacy & Security, Location Services). Location is never sent to advertisers and never shown to other players. You can decline location and every feature still works.
Speech recognition (optional)
Purpose: voice commands such as “Next Shot.” Leaves your device: No. Apple’s on-device speech recognition is used and command audio is not sent to us.
Apple Watch motion (optional)
Purpose: wrist motion during your swing, used in swing analysis and to improve it. When a session starts on your phone and you have the LiPAR watch app installed, the phone starts a golf workout session on the watch so the watch app keeps running and records wrist motion without you touching it. Leaves your device: Yes. Wrist motion for each shot, and a trace of the whole session (up to one hour), are uploaded and stored with your account (Section 5). The workout session is used only to keep the watch app running. We do not read your Health data and we do not save workouts to the Health app.
Body-motion and biometric analysis
Purpose: see Section 4. Leaves your device: Yes, as part of each uploaded shot and coaching analysis (Section 5).
Your LiPAR account (required)
Purpose: you sign in with Apple or Google to use LiPAR. Your account ties your uploaded shots, rounds and coaching sessions to you, keeps your games handle and records, and lets you restore your history. What we receive: your email address (or, if you use Apple’s Hide My Email, a private relay address that Apple forwards to you), your name if you share it, the identifier your sign-in provider issues for LiPAR, and the account ID our sign-in service (Firebase Authentication) creates. We also keep a record that you accepted these terms, with the date and the version you accepted. Leaves your device: Yes. Your account is stored on our servers until you delete it (Section 12).
Coach conversations
Purpose: the AI coach answers your questions about your swing. The coach model runs on your iPhone. Leaves your device: Yes. The text of your conversations with the coach (your messages and the coach’s replies), and the coaching analysis behind them, are uploaded and stored with your account (Section 5). They are never sent to advertisers.
Contacts (optional, games invites only)
Purpose: to let you pick friends to invite to a leaderboard by text. Leaves your device: Only the first name and last initial of a person you invite, for example “Dave M.”, stored with your board so it can show who you invited. The app reads your contacts on your phone only while you are choosing; phone numbers and the rest of your contacts never reach us. See Section 5a.3.
Push notification token (optional, games)
Purpose: a device token issued by Apple that lets us send you leaderboard alerts, such as someone beating your record or accepting your invite. Leaves your device: Yes, if you allow notifications. It is stored with your account, is never used for advertising, and is deleted when you sign out or delete your account.
Usage analytics (always on)
Purpose: to understand which features people use and where the app breaks, so we can improve it. Leaves your device: Yes. The app records events such as a screen being opened, a session starting or finishing, a shot being recorded or failing, and a permission being granted, with small details such as club type, session length in shots, or the phone’s heat level. They are processed by Google Analytics for Firebase and tied to an identifier for your app installation; we do not send your email or name to Google Analytics. Events never include your swing videos, your measured numbers, or anything you type to the coach. Some of these events are also sent to Meta and TikTok (Section 6a). Usage analytics are part of the free license and cannot be turned off in the app.
Diagnostics from Apple
Purpose: crash and performance data. Leaves your device: Only if you have enabled sharing with app developers in iOS Settings. Delivered by Apple in aggregated form.
App installation and integrity identifiers
Purpose: the Firebase software in the app creates a random identifier for your app installation so our cloud services can recognize it, and uses Apple’s App Attest and DeviceCheck services to confirm that requests come from a genuine copy of the app. Leaves your device: Yes. These identifiers are reset if you reinstall the app and are not used for advertising.
Advertising identifier and matching data (only if you allow tracking)
Purpose: to measure which of our ads lead to installs and use, and to help Meta and TikTok show our ads to golfers likely to want LiPAR. Leaves your device: Only if you tap “Allow” when iOS asks whether LiPAR may track you. Then Meta and TikTok receive your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), a one-way hashed form of your email address, your LiPAR account ID, and, for Meta, a hashed form of your first and last name. See Section 6a.
Camera access and a LiPAR account are required for the core function. Location, microphone, notifications, speech recognition, contacts, Apple Watch and ad tracking are optional, and declining any of them does not stop you using the app.
4. Body-motion and biometric information: important notice
Please read this section carefully. In some jurisdictions it constitutes formal notice required by law.
To analyze your swing, LiPAR estimates the position of body landmarks (joints, limbs, torso orientation) from your video, and, if you wear an Apple Watch, measures your wrist motion. Depending on where you live, this analysis may be treated as biometric information or consumer health data, including under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14), the Texas Capture or Use of Biometric Identifier Act, and the Washington My Health My Data Act.
What we collect: body-landmark coordinates and derived kinematic measurements (rotation angles, sequencing, tempo, positions through the swing), Apple Watch wrist-motion data, and the video frames those are computed from.
Purpose: to analyze golf swing mechanics, generate coaching feedback, and develop and improve LiPAR’s analysis models. Uploading this data is part of the free license described in Section 5.
We do not use this data to identify you. We do not perform facial recognition, face matching, gait identification, or any identity-verification function, and we do not compare your data against any database of individuals. It is stored with your LiPAR account so it stays with your history; that is the only link between it and you.
We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric information, and we will not disclose it except (a) with your consent, (b) to a service provider bound by written confidentiality and processing obligations, or (c) as required by law or valid legal process. It is never sent to advertisers.
Retention and destruction schedule:
- On your device: until you delete the session, delete your account, or delete the app.
- On our servers: retained for as long as needed to develop and validate our models, and in any event destroyed no later than three (3) years after upload, or within 30 days of a verified deletion request, or when the purpose of collection has been satisfied, whichever occurs first.
Consent: By signing in and accepting these terms you give your express consent to the collection, upload, use and retention of body-motion data described in this section. If you do not consent, do not use the app.
5. Data you contribute as part of the free license
LiPAR is free. In exchange, what you create in the app is uploaded to us. This section says exactly what, why, and what you can do about it.
What is uploaded, for every session you record:
- Shots from Open Range and Games: the swing video with its audio, the ball and club measurements LiPAR computes, the body-landmark and kinematic data (Section 4), Apple Watch wrist motion for that shot if you wear one, the shot’s location and elevation if you allow location (Section 3), technical context needed to interpret it (device model, iOS and app version, frame rate, camera settings, how the phone was held), and, when a shot cannot be measured, a record of where and why the measurement failed.
- Putting rounds from The Greens: the shape of the green surface LiDAR mapped, the ball roll paths, your putt results, and still photos of the ball and the cup taken during setup.
- Coaching: the coaching analysis for your sessions (faults found, scores, positions through the swing, the measurements behind them) and the text of your conversations with the AI coach.
- Apple Watch sessions: a trace of your wrist motion across the whole session, up to one hour.
Why: to run LiPAR for you (your history and records on your account) and to develop, train, evaluate and improve LiPAR’s ball tracking, swing analysis, putting and coaching. We do not use this data for advertising and never send it to advertisers.
How it is stored: with your LiPAR account, in cloud storage operated by Google in the United States, transmitted over TLS and protected by access controls (Section 9). Each contribution also carries a Contribution ID, shown in Settings under Legal, which you can quote when you contact us.
Server logs: when your device uploads, our storage provider records the request, including your device’s IP address, in access logs. We use these logs only for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, we do not use them to build a profile of you, and we retain them for no more than 90 days.
An honest note about identifiability: this data is stored with your account, so it is personal information, not anonymous data. Your swing video may also show your face, body, clothing, voice and surroundings, and someone who knows you could recognize you in it. We restrict access to it and never publish it, but we will not tell you it is anonymous or unidentifiable when it is not.
Other people in your videos: if someone else appears in your recordings, they are uploaded too. Only record people who have agreed to it (Terms, Section 5).
Stopping uploads: uploads are a condition of using the free app, so there is no setting that turns them off. You can stop all future uploads at any time by deleting your account (Section 12) and the app. Shots still waiting to upload when you delete your account are discarded.
Deleting past contributions: deleting your account does not by itself delete what you already contributed. To have it deleted, email contact@lipargolf.com from the address on your account, or quote your Contribution ID, and we will delete your contributed recordings, measurements, rounds and coach conversations within 30 days.
One thing we cannot undo: once data has been used to train a model, that training cannot be reversed. Deleting your contributions removes the recordings and stops future use, but does not remove the influence they have already had on model weights.
5a. Games, leaderboards, and your public profile
LiPAR includes games and challenges with leaderboards. Your LiPAR account is your games account; there is no separate sign-up.
5a.1 What other players can see
The first time you open Games, you choose a public handle. From then on, other players can see your handle, your profile photo if you set one (it doubles as your leaderboard avatar), your best scores on public leaderboards, the scores you post to private boards you share with them, and the dates those records were set.
Other players never see your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, swing video, body-motion data, or any shot that is not part of a game result.
Stop sharing: in Games settings, Stop sharing takes you off every public leaderboard and stops your photo showing to other players. Private boards you joined keep working. You can share again at any time.
Games records are stored in Google Firebase in the United States, transmitted over TLS, and covered by Section 9. Loading a board or posting a score records your device’s IP address in our provider’s access logs, kept for no more than 90 days.
5a.2 Scores and shot data
When you finish a game, the app sends the result with the measurements for each shot in it (for example ball speed, launch, spin, carry, and club delivery), the time, and the app and model version, so our servers can recompute and verify the score. The shots themselves, including their video, are uploaded separately as part of the free license (Section 5).
We keep game results so that every record on a board can be re-verified, including after the player leaves. When you delete your account, your entries come off every board and your handle is released, but the underlying result records are kept, without your handle, for verification.
We may adjust, void, or remove scores we reasonably believe were manipulated, as set out in Section 11 of the Terms of Service.
5a.3 Inviting people you know
You can invite someone to a board by text message. On your phone, you pick a contact and the app opens the standard iOS message composer with an invite filled in; you send it yourself. The phone number is used on your phone only and is never uploaded to us.
What is uploaded: the invited person’s first name and last initial, for example “Dave M.”, stored with your board so it can show who you invited and whether they have joined.
How long we keep it: until the invite is cancelled or accepted, or the board is deleted. Once an invited person joins, their own handle replaces the name.
Invites by email: a board creator can also invite another player by entering their email address. We check it against LiPAR accounts and, if it matches, send that player an invite. We never tell the creator whether the address belongs to an account, and we do not store the address with the board.
If you were invited and would rather not be listed, email contact@lipargolf.com and we will remove your name, even though you are not a LiPAR user. You do not need an account to ask.
5a.4 Push notifications
If you allow notifications, Apple issues your device a push token. We store it with your account and use it only to deliver alerts about your games: a record being beaten, an invite being accepted, a board result being final. We do not use it for advertising and do not share it with any advertiser. We delete it when you sign out or delete your account. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops delivery immediately.
5a.5 What deleting your account does to games data
Deleting your account (Section 12) removes your handle (which may later be taken by someone else), your profile photo from boards, your push token, and your board memberships and public-board entries. A board you created stays available to its other members. Game result records are handled as described in 5a.2.
If we suspend your games participation for manipulation under Section 11 of the Terms, we remove your scores and handle from public boards and keep the underlying record for up to 12 months so the same person cannot immediately repeat the conduct. You can still ask us to delete it, and we will, unless we are actively investigating. Email us if you think we got it wrong; a person will read it.
5a.6 Choosing a handle
Your handle is public. Do not use your full legal name, email address, phone number, street address, or anything else you would not want a stranger to read. We may reclaim or change a handle that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or is obscene or harassing, as described in Section 11 of the Terms.
Reporting someone: if another player’s handle or photo is obscene, harassing, impersonates a real person, or is otherwise inappropriate, email contact@lipargolf.com with the handle and what is wrong. We review reports within one business day and can change or reclaim a handle, remove a photo, or suspend participation.
6. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- We never send your swing videos, images, body-motion or biometric data, shot measurements, location, coach conversations, or Apple Watch data to Meta, TikTok, or any other advertiser.
- We do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves, and we do not receive information about you from Meta or TikTok.
- We never upload the phone number of anyone you invite.
- We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
What we do do, so this section is not misleading: we upload what you create in the app as part of the free license (Section 5), we record usage analytics (Section 3), we send app events, and with your permission identifiers, to Meta and TikTok (Section 6a), and we show your games profile and scores to other players (Section 5a).
6a. Advertising and measurement (Meta and TikTok)
We advertise LiPAR on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. To know whether those ads work, and to help those platforms show our ads to golfers who would want the app, the app includes software from Meta Platforms, Inc. and from TikTok.
What Meta and TikTok receive, whatever you answer at the iOS tracking prompt:
- App events: install, app opened, sign-in completed, setup completed, first shot, each shot recorded (with the type of session and club category), session completed (with the type of session, the game if any, and the number of shots), coach used (chat or debrief), and screens viewed (by screen name).
- Technical context that comes with any network request: device model, iOS version, IP address, time, and identifiers the Meta and TikTok software generates for your app installation.
What they also receive, only if you tap “Allow” when iOS asks whether LiPAR may track you across other companies’ apps and websites:
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).
- A one-way hashed form of your email address.
- Your LiPAR account ID.
- For Meta, a one-way hashed form of your first and last name, if you shared your name.
If you tap “Ask App Not to Track”, none of those four are sent, and Apple’s aggregate system (SKAdNetwork) is what counts installs from ads.
What is never sent to Meta or TikTok: swing video, images, body-landmark or biometric data, kinematic measurements, shot measurements, location, microphone audio, Apple Watch data, coach conversations, or your email or name in readable form.
Why: to measure which ads produce installs and active golfers, and to let Meta and TikTok improve who our ads are shown to. Meta and TikTok may link this information to your account on their platforms under their own policies (Meta, TikTok).
A straight answer on the legal characterization: sending these events and identifiers to Meta and TikTok for these purposes is treated as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA/CPRA, and as “targeted advertising” under the Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Oregon, Texas, Montana, and Tennessee consumer privacy laws. We receive no money for it, so we do not consider it a “sale”, but the opt-out rights are the same either way.
How to opt out. Any one of these works:
- Tap “Ask App Not to Track” when iOS asks, or switch LiPAR off at any time under iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. This stops the identifiers listed above.
- Email contact@lipargolf.com and ask us to stop. We will confirm within 15 business days.
- Send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser when visiting lipargolf.com. We honor it for the website.
Opting out does not limit any feature of the app.
Meta’s and TikTok’s own handling of the data they receive is governed by their policies, not ours. We cannot audit them, and we would rather say so than imply a degree of control we do not have.
7. Service providers and other recipients
Processors, bound by contract to act on our instructions:
- Google LLC (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check, and Google Analytics for Firebase): our infrastructure provider. Hosts your account, your contributed data (Section 5), games data (Section 5a), and usage analytics. Data is held in the United States.
- Google LLC (Google Sign-In): if you sign in with Google, Google confirms your identity and gives us your email address and name.
- Apple Inc.: app distribution, Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, App Attest and DeviceCheck, crash reporting you allow in iOS, and, for older versions, payments.
- Netlify, Inc.: hosting for our website and its forms. United States.
Advertising recipients, not processors:
- Meta Platforms, Inc. and TikTok: as described in Section 6a. They receive app events whatever your tracking choice, and identifiers only if you allow tracking. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies.
We will keep this list current.
Subscriptions and payment: the current version of LiPAR is free and sells nothing. If you bought a subscription in an older version, Apple processed it; we never saw your card number, bank details, billing address or Apple Account password. Manage or cancel it in iOS Settings, under your name, Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple.
8. Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, information covered by this policy, including contributed data and derived datasets and models, may be transferred to or accessed by the counterparty as part of that transaction or its due diligence, subject to confidentiality protections. Any recipient will remain bound by commitments materially no less protective than those in this policy for data collected before the transfer, and we will notify you of any change of controller.
9. Security
On-device data is protected by iOS file-system encryption and your device passcode or biometric lock. Uploads travel over TLS 1.2 or higher to storage with access controls, encryption at rest, and audit logging. Access is limited to personnel who need it.
No system is perfectly secure. Where required by law, we will notify you and the relevant state authority of a qualifying data breach within the applicable deadline under the breach notification statute of your state.
10. Retention
- On-device sessions, videos, measurements and settings: until you delete them, delete your account, or delete the app.
- Your account (email, name, sign-in identifiers, account ID, record of the terms you accepted): until you delete your account in the app.
- Contributed data (Section 5) and body-motion data (Section 4): up to 3 years from upload, or 30 days from a verified deletion request. Deleting your account does not by itself delete contributed data.
- Derived model weights and aggregate statistics: indefinitely. These cannot be reversed to identify an individual.
- Games handle, profile photo on boards, board memberships and public-board entries: until you stop sharing (public entries) or delete your account.
- Game result records: as described in Section 5a.2.
- Invite first name and last initial: until the invite is cancelled or accepted, or the board is deleted.
- Push notification token: until you sign out or delete your account.
- Usage analytics in Google Analytics for Firebase: under our Google Analytics data retention setting, and no longer than 14 months.
- Storage access logs, including IP address: 90 days.
- Support correspondence: 2 years.
11. Children
LiPAR is intended for users aged 18 and over. You must be 18 or older to create a LiPAR account. If you record another person, including a junior golfer, you may do so only if you are their parent or legal guardian, or they are an adult who has agreed.
We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email contact@lipargolf.com and we will delete it.
12. Your rights
Everyone, regardless of location, can:
- Delete your account in the app, at Profile, Delete Account, without contacting us. You confirm with Apple or Google once more. Deleting your account: deletes your LiPAR account and sign-in, revokes LiPAR’s access to your Sign in with Apple account, removes your games profile as described in Section 5a.5, stops future uploads and discards any not yet sent, stops identifiers going to Meta and TikTok, and deletes the sessions, videos, rounds, game results and settings stored on that phone. It does not delete data you already contributed; email us to have that deleted (Section 5).
- Delete individual sessions on your phone.
- Stop sharing your games profile on public leaderboards (Section 5a.1).
- Opt out of sharing for advertising (Section 6a).
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Ask us to change or remove your handle or photo.
- Contact us with any privacy question.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights described in Section 13. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
To exercise a right, email contact@lipargolf.com from the address on your LiPAR account, or include your Contribution ID (Settings, Legal) or games handle. We will respond within 30 days (or 45 days under the CCPA, extendable once). If we cannot verify a request, we will explain why.

Your rights: know, access, delete, correct, opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (Section 6a), limit use of sensitive personal information where it applies, and non-retaliation. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authority. We will respond within 45 days, extendable once.
13.2 Illinois, Texas, and Washington
See Section 4, which contains the notice, purpose, retention schedule, and consent mechanism required under those states’ biometric and health data laws.
13.3 Other states
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Oregon, Texas, Montana, and Tennessee, may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and profiling. We engage in targeted advertising as described in Section 6a, and you may opt out at any time by any of the methods listed there. We process sensitive data (biometric data and precise geolocation) only with your consent, as described in Section 4. We do not sell personal information, and we do not profile you in a way that produces legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise any other right, or to appeal a decision we make on a request, email contact@lipargolf.com.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update the effective date above for any change. For material changes, particularly any change to what leaves your device, we will give in-app notice and, where consent is the legal basis, ask for your agreement before the change applies to you. We will not retroactively apply materially less protective terms to data already collected.
15. Contact
LiPAR Golf Inc 4338 Nestledown Ct. Chattanooga, TN 37419 contact@lipargolf.com
Privacy questions, data deletion requests, and rights requests all go to the same address and are handled by a person.
16. If you use an older version of the app
This policy describes LiPAR from version 1.3. Older versions (1.2 and earlier) work differently until you update: signing in is optional, uploads happen only if you turn on “Help Improve LiPAR”, and Meta receives subscription purchase events. While you use an older version, the policy that applied to it, available at lipargolf.com/legal/privacy/2026-10-14, continues to describe what that version does. When you update and sign in, this policy applies from then on. Data an older version uploaded under “Help Improve LiPAR” keeps the protections that policy promised.
